Profile of people in situation of psychic suffering in conflict with the law admitted to the Penal Medical Complex of Paraná

Abstract

With the objective of raising the profile of people in situations of psychological distress in conflict with the law admitted to the “Penal Medical Complex of Paraná” under a “Security Measure” regime, 369 medical records of male inmates were quantitatively analyzed. The data were categorized and recorded quantitatively, and aspects of psychopathological diagnosis, criminal and social characteristics of the inmates were analyzed. The results show a similar profile found in other studies of this kind, which can be used to develop new intervention policies, especially in the preventive aspect.
